MACPAC & Buncombe Forward Join Forces
ASHEVILLE/BUNCOMBE COUNTY, North Carolina (June 6, 2013) – The Boards of Directors of Mountain Area Citizens’ PAC (MACPAC) and Buncombe Forward, two local non-partisan grassroots political action committees, have voted to merge their organizations into a single unified political action committee to focus on local and state issues.
“MACPAC is thrilled to join forces with Buncombe Forward to further strengthen the local grassroots conservative movement”, said Jonathan Elkin, Chairman of MACPAC.
Robert Malt, Buncombe Forward’s Executive Director said, “We [Buncombe Forward] repeatedly found ourselves in agreement with MACPAC on a variety of issues, and working on the same conservative grassroots causes. Uniting our organizations just made sense.”
With this merger, MACPAC touts it will be the most effective means of change in the region. “Partisan politics has disillusioned the general public,” stated Kevin King, Creative Director of MACPAC. “We stand for actually making change on the issues, not bickering about who’s fault it is.”
The combined organization will retain the MACPAC legal structure. MACPAC is a state-registered political action committee, which provides more flexibility than Buncombe Forward’s structure, which is organized at the county level. The MACPAC (Mountain Area Citizens’ Political Action Committee) name will also be retained.
MACPAC (Mountain Area Citizens’ Political Action Committee) is an unaffiliated group of concerned citizens united to promote limited and responsible government. MACPAC is open to citizens of any party affiliation.
Buncombe Forward is a non-partisan political action committee organized to recruit, train, and elect local candidates supportive of free-market economic prosperity, private property rights, educational choice, and sensible protection of the environment.
